Marching to the Music

Many societies have been inspired when they see their troops marching to the music as they leave for war, but it has become an activity few in the modern world want to see. The inspiration this activity has given many is now considered warmongering. Troops today may still march in parade for ceremonial reasons, but massive displays of power are seen as something only countries with few resources need to do. The inspiration of military music is now only for the troops, and few people bother to listen to it when their country is not in an active war.

Marching to the music can still be used for those who need to get fit enough for life, but they do not necessarily need to go to war. Walking on a treadmill is a great way to exercise a body gone flabby with sitting in front of a computer all day, so inspiration can be hard to come by. For those who want to walk off extra calories and weight, turning to martial strains can help inspire them to win the war on fat.
